I thought Piz was lame on Veronica- this whole midwifery thing is making him the lamest of them all. Good lord- like Addison the surgeon would have missed that stuff. This is ridiculous. Like Addison doesn't know how to deal with this- SHE IS A SURGEON!! THIS is why you don't give birth in a stupid clinic and why you go to a hospital- giving birth is DANGEROUS people- ok I have to calm down- this topic gets me worked up.
Ok this is just bothering me- why is she going so slow- I like my doctors to be a bit more on the ball and moving quicker than this! I can't believe she agreed to work in a clinic where she won't be performing surgeries..especially since she's a surgeon!!
I hope this fails and she goes back to Grey's and all is right with the world

I don't want to get killed by you or anything, but many many people have natural births at home and are crazy happy with that. I'm not saying I'd ever do it (bring on the epidural!!) but most midwives nowadays are doing births in hospitals or move their patients to hospitals ASAP if something's even remotely wrong. I know the writing was still stupid but I can kind of see an OB-surgeon not quite knowing how to deal right away...but yes, the kneeling down what do I do I must talk to myself crap was ridiculous, just like most of the writing in this show now. Arg. Does this mean I can't say "seriously" without drawing Grey's comparisons now?!?!
Yes I know people do it- but I strongly disapprove. My point is though that her personality does not translate to that setting- and it's not what she is trained to do. It is ridiculous.
Midwives in a hospital setting- totally down with that. BECAUSE if something happens you are in the hospital. But people seem to forget that prior to the last 100 years childbirth was one of the leading causes of death for women- it is very dangerous. It is not necessarily "natural" and "easy". Not everyone is built for it. And the trend scares me.
